Equipment You’ll Need

All you’ll need for this recipe is a large serving bowl, a cutting board, and some good chef’s knives. You could technically use one of those vegetable chopper things, but I find just knife and cutting boards are just cleanest and easiest.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Lettuce:

I used an 8 ounce bag of shredded lettuce. You can find these in your produce section. I like the bagged shredded lettuce the best. You could use regular iceberg and cut it yourself. However, I like the thin texture of the bagged lettuce.

Deli Meats:

You’ll need ham, salami and pepperoni. I used around 4 ounce or a half a cup of each. I used thin sliced black forest ham. This is just what I preferred, but you can use whatever type you want. I like the sweetness the ham adds.

Veggies:

As for veggies, I used banana peppers, Roma tomatoes, and red onion. You’ll chop those into little bits and dices and then add them to your shredded lettuce. If you noticed, I used less banana peppers than anything else. If you really like banana peppers, you can always add more than I did. However, this will really vamp up the acidity of your salad so just beware of that! You may want to add in more sugar to your dressing to cut it.

Cheese:

Provolone cheese. I literally love provolone cheese. It’s probably my favorite of all cheeses. Just like everything else. You’ll slice it and dice it into little small bits. You’ll want every ingredient to be somewhat uniform. Try to cut and dice all the ingredients to be around the same size!

Dressing:

This is just a mayo-based vinaigrette style dressing. You’ll just mix some mayonnaise, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning and sugar together. Then just drizzle over the top like you would any traditional salad!

Notes

What to serve it with:
I used crostini toast or breads. You can buy them premade from the store or make the homemade with Italian baguette bread.
How to store this:
I would not recommend storing this for leftovers or making it beforehand. You run the risk of the lettuce wilting very quickly and loosing the freshness of the overall salad.
