Southern Sweet Potato Casserole with Cereal and Pecan Crumble Topping

This Southern sweet potato casserole will be the most delicious dish at any holiday function. This is a sweet potato casserole with canned yams, making it super easy to throw together. Top with a brown sugar, cereal, and pecan crumble loaded with butter for the most crunchy and delicious bite every time. You'll want to make this old fashioned sweet potato casserole for every potluck and function. It's seriously that good.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 40 oz cans Canned Yams in Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Melted Butter
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
Crumble Topping
  • 2 cup Life Cereal
  • 2 cups Chopped Pecans
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 stick Butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Open your cans of yams and drain all but about a half cup of syrup. Add the syrup and yams to a mixing bowl. Add in brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon and salt. Mash and mix together until smooth and add to your casserole dish.
  • In a separate bowl, add your cereal, pecans, a cup of brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix together well and sprinkle over the top of your yam mixture.
  • Slice a half stick of butter into 1/2-inch slices and places them all over the top of your crumble. Bake for about 20 minutes. The crumble will be golden brown and the yams will be bubbly along the edges. Serve and enjoy!
