Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Casserole Dish
  • Mixing Bowls

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • 2 lbs Italian Sausage
  • 2-3 Shallots, Chopped
  • 1 Large Carrot, Chopped
  • 2-3 Celery Sticks, Chopped
  • 1 tbsp Poultry Seasonings
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2-3 cups Vegetable Broth

Instructions

  • Break your French bread into little bits. Let it sit out for as long as possible. I like to do this step several hours or a day ahead of time. The drier the bread, the better.
  • Preheat your oven 350 degrees. In your large skillet, sauté your Italian sausage until totally browned.
  • Once sausage is browned, add your chopped shallots, carrot, celery and seasonings to the pan. Cook until the look nice and tender.
  • Add your dried bread pieces and sausage and veggie mixture to a large bowl. Totally mix together. Add in your broth and two eggs and mix more. You'll want your bread to be totally soaked, but not soupy.
  • Add the mix back to your skillet or a casserole dish and bake for around-30 minutes or until totally browned on top. Serve and enjoy!
