Italian Hoagie Dip

This Italian hoagie dip is at the top of my list of favorite summer dips and appetizers. I love cold dip recipes. This is basically just a rendition of the grinder sandwich in dip form. This is so light and perfect during the summer. However, this one is so good all year round. I could seriously make a meal out this dip. Keep reading to see how I made this hoagie dip recipe in less than 10 minutes.

Equipment

  • Chef's Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Large Serving Bowl

Ingredients

  • 8 oz bag Shredded Lettuce
  • 1/2 Chopped Red Onion
  • 2 Chopped Roma Tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup Banana Peppers
  • 1/2 cup Provolone Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Sliced Ham
  • 1/2 cup Salami
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoni
  • Crostini Toasts for serving
Dressing
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Red Wine Vinegear
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Sugar

Instructions

  • Add your bag of shredded lettuce to a large serving bowl. Dice your tomatoes, slice and chop your red onion, and chop your banana peppers. Add them to your bowl. You'll want your pieces to be somewhat uniform. Chop and dice and your cheese and meats and add them to the bowl as well. Toss your salad until it's totally mixed together.
  • Mix your dressing ingredients together in a separate bowl, then drizzle over the top. Mix together until it's mixed throughout the salad. Serve immediately with crostini toasts. Enjoy!

Notes

What to serve it with:
I used crostini toast or breads. You can buy them premade from the store or make the homemade with Italian baguette bread.
How to store this:
I would not recommend storing this for leftovers or making it beforehand. You run the risk of the lettuce wilting very quickly and loosing the freshness of the overall salad.
