They are damn good!
Who doesn’t love some that is so delicious that is merely a cracker and an one-inch piece of bacon. Every time i take these somewhere, everyone is in awe of the delicious simplicity. It’s like “How have I not thought of this before?”
Questions you might have…
What type of bacon to use?
It really doesn’t matter. I used thick cut bacon. You can use whatever flavor is your preference. I’ve made these with different types of bacon over the years, and they all turn out great.
Can you cook these in a grill or smoker?
These would probably be so delicious made in a smoker. I have not personally used this method, but I think you would use the same temperature and cooking time.
What if they stick together while cooking?
Let them totally cool then cut them apart with a knife.
How to store bacon crackers?
I would store them in an airtight container for a couple of days. They will start to get pretty chewy over time.
Equipment You Will Need
Ok. So for this club cracker bacon appetizer recipe, there is no need for measuring cups, no fancy equipment—just a baking sheet! Seriously, these are so easy to whip together super-fast. Everyone loves them. They are perfect for winter, summer, any time of year.
Ingredients You Will Need…
I love recipes with club crackers. They are so simple and I feel like the possibilities are endless. So this particular club cracker bacon brown sugar recipe is a fav or mine. What I love so much about this one is that you can make these up in a flash. With only four ingredients, I usually have all of these items already at my house. I love to buy bacon in advance and then freeze it. Pull it out for a rainy day, quick recipe like this one!
Club Crackers
You’ll need some club crackers. Use however many will fit on your baking sheet. I think, in total, I made about 50 crackers.
Bacon
You’ll need about 3/4 pound of bacon. You’ll cut them into little “cracker-sized” pieces.
Brown Sugar
There is no particular amount of brown sugar that you’ll need. You’ll just sprinkle a little bit on each cracker on top of the bacon.
Cayenne Pepper
You’ll need a tiny amount of cayenne pepper. Just a sprinkle. This will add just the smallest amount of heat along with the candied sweetness. You can omit this if you’d like!
