This cowboy butter sauce. It’s perfect for all the carnivores out there. This is a tangy, savory buttery sauce packed with lots of herbs and a tiny hint of spice. This sauce is seriously so good I could drink it. It’s the perfect and fast accompaniment to go with any steak or seafood entree. You definitely have got to try it.
Ok. If y’all have been reading my blog or follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that we are big steak eaters around here. Like seriously that’s all Allen ever wants to eat. I have no idea how he doesn’t have high cholesterol or gout.
Anyway, I tried something different and made this cowboy butter sauce one night to go with our steaks. Oh, my goodness. It’s so good. It’s so easy and it takes less than 5 minutes to make.
Equipment You’ll Need
For this recipe, you’ll need a small saucepan, some measuring spoons and a large spoon to stir with. I transferred my sauce to a small bowl for serving, but that’s totally optional. You can serve it right out of the pan.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Salted Butter:
I used salted butter. I like it best. You can always use unsalted if needed and add a tiny bit of salt to it.
Minced Garlic:
I used a tablespoon of minced garlic.
Dijon Mustard:
I used a tablespoon of Dijon mustard. This just adds a little tangier flavor.
Lemon Juice:
This just cuts down on the buttery-ness, if that’s possible. It also levels out the salt in the salted butter.
Herbs:
I used thyme, Italian seasonings, chives, parsley, and dill.
Seasonings:
As for any additional seasonings, you’ll need paprika and cayenne pepper.
How to Make Cowboy Butter
step one:
Add your butter to a small saucepan to low heat. Melt butter slowly. You don’t want it to burn or brown.
step two:
Once butter is fully melted, add in the remainder of the ingredients. Stir well for a few seconds and remove from heat. Serve with steak or seafood. Enjoy!
