How to Make Steak Bites Tender?
Remember, when making this recipe, not all steaks or cuts of beef are created equal! This is quick recipe, so there is no tenderizing cooking secret. For this particular recipe, you’ll want to actually use a higher quality cut of beef for this recipe. The steak bites are the star of the show here. So, to get the full rich and butter experience, you’ll want to buy a nice and tender cut of beef.
What Steak to Use for Steak Bites?
I used the New York Strip. Strips are super tender and flavorful with a little less fat content than a ribeye and less expensive than a filet.
Equipment You Will Need
Obviously, the major focus here is on your skillet. This 15-inch one is huge, and I use it for so much! I got it at Wal-Mart, but you can find them anywhere. It’s definitely worth investing in a large skillet. You can use them for so much. You’ll also need a cutting board, sharp kitchen knife and something to stir with.
Ingredients You Will Need
Steak:
Like I said before, I definitely recommend buying a higher quality steak for this recipe. However, if you use a lower quality, you can still achieve some of that same great flavor, your meat just may be a bit tougher.
Brown Mushrooms:
I love mushrooms, especially with steak! You can omit these if you want.
Minced Garlic:
This adds so much better flavor than garlic powder.
Butter:
Butter and plenty of it! It really doesn’t matter if it’s salted or unsalted.
Red Wine and Soy Sauce:
These two add in a little more flavor and give the meat something to baste in for a few minutes while it cooks.
Herbs and Seasonings:
I used salt, pepper, onion powder, and rosemary.
