I love a good meatloaf. I feel like it’s the ultimate comfort food. You can’t beat meatloaf and mashed potatoes. These meatloaf meatballs are my favorite meatloaf recipe made into tiny balls. They are delicious in this form, and just something different than the usual.

What fat percent for the ground beef?
Alright, I’m going to be honest…I used ground chuck. It probably made them a little fatty, however, they are still delicious. You can use whatever fat percent you’d prefer.
Can you make these ahead?
Sure! You definitely can. I would just make additional sauce right before serving and baking.
Can you freeze these meatballs?
Yes. These will freeze for 3 to 6 months. You can assemble the meatballs themselves and freeze without adding any sauce. You’ll then thaw them out, make the sauce and proceed with the recipe as stated.
Equipment You’ll Need:
For this recipe, you’ll need a large baking sheet. I used the exact one linked below. You’ll also need some parchment paper, a large mixing bowl, and a saucepot.

Ground Beef:
You’ll need two pounds of ground beef. You can use whatever fat content you prefer. I used ground chuck. You can definitely use a leaner ground beef, but you could also run the risk of them potentially being dry.
Breadcrumbs:
I used two types of breadcrumbs. I used three quarters a cup each of panko and Italian breadcrumbs.
Eggs:
I used two large eggs. These serve as a binder for the meatballs and help them keep their shape and stay together.
Ketchup:
You’ll need two tablespoons of ketchup. This will just add some flavor to the meatballs. You’ll also use ketchup for the sauce that will go on top of the meatballs.
Worcestershire Sauce:
I used two tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce for the meatballs themselves and then one to go in the sauce. Again, this is for flavor.
Onion:
You’ll need half of a yellow onion. I like to mince mine, so you don’t have chunks of onion, and the taste is more fluid. I grated a half of an onion with a cheese grater.
Apple Cider Vinegar:
I used a quarter of a cup of apple cider vinegar for my sauce.
Seasonings:
For seasonings, you’ll need salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasonings.
You’ll also need a cup of brown sugar to go into your sauce.
How to Reheat These Meatloaf Meatballs:
To reheat these meatballs, you can always reheat individual servings in the microwave. As a whole, you can add them back to the baking pan and heat them at 250 degrees until they become warm again.
Step by Step How to Make These Meatloaf Meatballs
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Add all the ingredients for the meatballs in a large bowl. Mix very well with your hands. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mold meatballs into golf ball sized balls.
- In a small saucepot, mix all the ingredients together for the ketchup sauce. Bring to a boil then turn off from heat. Spoon over each meatball. Add meatballs to the oven for at least 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven after time is up. Serve with additional sauce if desired. Enjoy!

- 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
