Why You’ll Love This Chocolate Sheet Cake
It’s just so good
This cake is almost brownie-like. It’s something to me about the thickness. It’s maybe a little more dense than regular. But it’s just better. Trust me.
with or without nuts
You don’t have to make this cake with the walnuts in the glaze. Or just make half of it with the walnuts!
top it with ice cream
When this cake comes out of the oven, top it with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Oh my gosh…
Equipment You’ll Need
Ok. The thing about sheet cakes is that you really need a jelly roll pan to make this. Typically they are 10 by 15 inches with about a 1 inch lip on them. If you don’t have this exact size, just use a cookie sheet to that has a lip! Other items you’ll need is a saucepan, whisk, measuring cups and some bowls.
What Makes This Cake Different and Soo Much Better
The Sour cream
The sour cream in this recipe makes this cake so amazingly delicious. It gives it the richness and that perfect texture for such a tiny little thin piece of cake. It may sound strange if you’ve never made a cake with sour cream before, but I promise you won’t regret it.
The Glaze
I’m really not a big, huge icing fan so this is also why I love this cake so much. This glaze is the perfect amount to keep the cake moist and gives it that extra amazing flavor. Don’t forget the vanilla extract!
