Equipment

  • 11" Oval Baking Dish
  • Tin Foil

Ingredients

  • 24 oz Frozen or Fresh Green Beans
  • 4 oz Thick Cut Deli Ham
  • 1 Shallot or 1/4 of Yellow Onion (I prefer shallots)
  • 1 cup Water or Chicken Broth
  • 3 tbsp Butter
Seasonings
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Lemon Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Add beans, ham, and sliced onions to the dish.
  • Slowly pour your water or stock on top of the beans. It will puddle in the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle brown sugar and seasonings over the top of the beans. Then slice the 3 tablespoons of butter and place the slices all over the top of the beans.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30-40 minutes. The beans will have turned to a darker olive color, and the onions will be translucent. Serve while hot and enjoy!
