Ingredients You Wil Need

Green Beans:

So for these southern green beans in oven, I actually used two 12oz bags of frozen green beans for this recipe. However, you could definitely use fresh green beans. I would use the whole and not cut.

Ham:

You could use any type or flavor of ham for this recipe. However, I used the Oscar Meyer carving station honey ham. It’s perfect for this recipe for chop up real small, and get that sweet, fatty flavor.

Onion:

Again, more flavor.

Stock:

Your stock (or water) is basically going to steam and simmer the beans. I used water and the beans were still very delicious. Your butter is going to give them added flavor. However, some chicken stock will add even more rich flavor. Just use what you have. Can’t go wrong either way.

Butter:

This is a southern inspired recipe so butter. Yeah.

Brown Sugar:

The brown sugar brings out more of the ham flavor in the beans.

Seasonings:

I have a homemade seasoning that my father-in-law makes. He literally put its on everything and its great. It is pepper, salt, lemon pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
