The equipment you’ll need for this recipe is a food processor or a blender. You’ll also need a skillet and a spoon or spatula. These are these spatulas I have by Le Creuset and I love them.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Bacon:

You’ll need a half pound of bacon. You can use whatever flavor or thickness you’d like.

Onion:

You’ll need a yellow onion, sliced thinly.

Olive Oil:

You’ll need some olive oil to sauté your onions in and two tablespoons to add to your homemade hummus.

Chickpeas:

You’ll need one can of chickpeas.

Tahini:

You’ll need a half cup of tahini. This gives it that deep sesame flavor.

Minced Garlic:

I used two tablespoons of minced garlic to put in my hummus.

Lemon Juice:

You’ll use about 3ish tablespoons of lemon juice. I actually used a lemon substitute. Like, the lemon juice that comes in the bottle…

Seasonings:

As for seasonings, I used brown sugar for my onions and to top the dish with and I used cumin and salt in my hummus!

Water:

You’ll add a little water at a time. Before you add it, it will be thick and pasty. Add water to make the consistency better.
