Italian Sausage Stuffing
This Italian sausage stuffing recipe is the epitome of holiday eating. This is packed with lots of hearty sausage and savory flavors. This is the perfect holiday dish, and it's so simple. You'll want to make this bold, meaty dish over and over.
Equipment
- Large Skillet
- Casserole Dish
- Mixing Bowls
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French Bread
- 2 lbs Italian Sausage
- 2-3 Shallots, Chopped
- 1 Large Carrot, Chopped
- 2-3 Celery Sticks, Chopped
- 1 tbsp Poultry Seasonings
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Pepper
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 2 Large Eggs
- 2-3 cups Vegetable Broth
Instructions
- Break your French bread into little bits. Let it sit out for as long as possible. I like to do this step several hours or a day ahead of time. The drier the bread, the better.
- Preheat your oven 350 degrees. In your large skillet, sauté your Italian sausage until totally browned.
- Once sausage is browned, add your chopped shallots, carrot, celery and seasonings to the pan. Cook until the look nice and tender.
- Add your dried bread pieces and sausage and veggie mixture to a large bowl. Totally mix together. Add in your broth and two eggs and mix more. You'll want your bread to be totally soaked, but not soupy.
- Add the mix back to your skillet or a casserole dish and bake for around-30 minutes or until totally browned on top. Serve and enjoy!
