Old Fashioned Chicken and Noodles

I love this old fashioned chicken and noodles recipe. My mom and my grandmother both used to make this all the time. For my recipe, I used rotisserie chicken, a homemade cream of chicken soup and some egg noodles. Once you cook it all down, it makes a nice creamy, one-pot meal. I’m telling you; you’ll love this comfort food favorite.
I just love these old recipes. I’ve mentioned it in some of my other post, but for some reason, I just really like making my own cream of chicken soup that’s what I do for the base of this. I also saw a little bit of celery carrots in an onion. You’ll mix all of that down with some egg noodles. This recipe is easy and takes less than 25 minutes.
Equipment You’ll Need
Equipment you’ll need for this old fashioned chicken and noodles recipe is a pot or skillet that has a lid. My favorite is my Staub braiser. I’ve linked it below. Other than that, you may need some measuring cups, a spoon or a spatula and a sharp knife to chop your veggies with.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Rotisserie Chicken:
I used the meat of a whole rotisserie chicken. I just think it’s the cheapest and easiest thing to use. If you have just normal chicken breast, you can use that as well.
Vegetables:
For veggies, I use some celery, carrots, and a yellow onion. All three of these really hates the flavor dish.
Chicken Broth:
I use some chicken broth to help cook down the noodles.
Heavy Cream:
I also used some heavy cream to create the creamy component.
Flour:
You’ll need a couple tablespoons of flour. This will help it thicken up while it’s cooking.
Chicken Bouillon:
A little bit of chicken bouillon, a little bit more of the chicken flavor.
Egg Noodles:
And you’ll need about 2 cups of raw egg noodles.
