Peach Sangria
This peach sangria is the best summer sangria recipe. If you’re like me, I’m a red wine drinker. This cocktail takes the boldness of red wine and twists it into a fun summer drink perfect for a crowd. All you’ll do is emulsify some peaches in a blender, strain them, and pour that a bottle of red wine, sugar, a little spirits and some sparkling water. That’s it! This is the perfect summer drink recipe, especially for a crowd!
Sangria 101
best red wine for sangria
I’m a cabernet drinker so, of course that’s what I used. Any red wine will work, it’s just your preference! I actually used a bottle of Josh cabernet. I had a bottle at home, and it’s one of my favorite, cost-effective, everyday wines.
brandy for sangria
You can use any type of brandy or bourbon for this recipe. I love adding in the small bit a liquor for a little added punch! I personally used Maker’s Mark. Again, that’s what I had and typically have on hand as far as whiskey goes.
best fruit for sangria
Obviously, this particular recipe is focused on peaches. However, you could put oranges or lemons or limes or strawberries in sangria! They are all delicious and won’t hinder the flavor too much.
Equipment You’ll Need
The main piece of equipment or appliance that you’ll need is food processor. Then you’ll need a large pitcher, a wine opener, some measuring cups, and I personally love using mason jars for everything!
Ingredients You’ll Need
Fresh Peaches:
I love fresh summer peaches. I blended two fresh peaches and strained them into the pitcher. I then added sliced peaches to the pitcher.
Red Wine:
I used a whole bottle of red wine. I love cabernet. I used a whole bottle of cabernet sauvignon.
Brandy or Bourbon:
You can technically use any type of brandy or bourbon that you have. I used Maker’s Mark, but that’s just my preference.
Triple Sec:
A shot of triple sec with add a fruity component to the mix! It adds a small hint of orange and citrus.
Sugar:
This adds a sweetness to the cocktail and breaks up some of the bitterness from the wine.
Sparkling Water:
A little carbonation and fizziness.
