Apple Jacks Cinnamon Treats
These apple jacks cinnamon treats are the perfect twist on a rice krispie treat. They are so perfectly gooey and cinnamon-ey. The butter makes them so delicious. I love apple jacks, and these apple jacks treats are perfect for fall. You won’t regret making these, I promise.
Why You’ll Love these Apple Jacks Cinnamon Treats
This is basically just a fall rice krispie treat. The cinnamon and apple jacks just put me in the mood for the season. They are so delicious and chewy, and really easy to make. It takes about 10 minutes to put it together then just walk away and let them set for around an hour. I’ve been wanting to have treats out on my counter lately. My house is a revolving door of people in and out so these fall treats have been a hit! In case you missed it, my Fall Chex Mix was a favorite too.
Equipment You’ll Need
Ok. So, the easiest way to make these is to you use a square casserole dish. You can line it with plastic wrap, but I found it was easier to use tin foil. However, be sure to grease all sides that will touch the cereal mix. If not, it will stick and ruin the shape of your bars. You’ll also need a large pot and a rubber spatula. I found that my 5 quart pot was plenty big enough!
Ingredients You’ll Need
I love a recipe that requires so few ingredients. These treats only use 4 main ingredients and typically you’d more than likely already have two on hand.
Apple Jacks Cereal:
I love apple jacks cereal. Regardless if it’s fall or not, these are just really good.
Butter:
I used 5 tablespoons. This makes the gooey and deliciousness go way up in marshmallow treats. It’s essential.
Cinnamon:
This just makes the apple jacks flavor pop! Really good and adds more of a cinnamon flavor to the marshmallow cream.
Mini Marshmallows:
You’ll need a 10-ounce bag of mini-marshmallows.
Step by Step How to Make These Cinnamon Apple Jacks Treats
Step one
Line a 9-inch square casserole dish with tin foil. Grease the base and sides of the foil. Set aside.
Step two
In a large pot, add your butter and heat on medium. Once butter is melted, add in your cinnamon and mix together. Add your marshmallows and stir with a spatula until fully melted.
Step three
Once the marshmallows are fully melted, add your cereal to the pot and fold into the melted marshmallows. Remove from heat and empty into your greased dish. Take another piece of foil and spray one side with non-stick spray. Press the greased side down on top of the cereal mix. Press down until it’s a somewhat uniform thickness. Set aside for at least an hour.
Step four
Pick up the tin foil out of the dish and unwrap the treats. It should be simple because of the nonstick spray. Cut into individual squares. It should make 9-12 treats. Enjoy!
