The tart bite from the pie crust pairs perfect with the cinnamon sugar, topped with a classic vanilla glaze and festive sprinkles makes the perfect tiny bite.
These are extremely easy and costly to make. Keeping scrolling to see how I made these cute little Mardi Gras snacks.
If you’ve been reading my page, you’ve probably seen that I’m from Louisiana. I really want to try to make it to New Orleans Mardi Gras. As much time as we spend in New Orleans, it’s kind of strange that we don’t go more often. Regardless, the whole state of Louisiana celebrates Mardi Gras from New Year’s Day until Fat Tuesday. If you plan on attending any festive parties, these will be a hit and don’t require much effort to make.
Equipment You’ll Need…
You don’t really need a lot for this recipe. I personally like to use the baking sheets without a lip/edge on them. You’ll need a baking sheet, some parchment paper, and a small bowl to mix up your glaze. Don’t forget you’ll also need some Mardi Gras sprinkles. I found mine at Wal-Mart, but I linked some below. These would also be super cute to place the “baby” on top.
Ingredients You’ll Need…
So, the first time that I tried to make these, I failed miserably. Butter is an essential ingredient in this recipe. I just used a thawed out frozen pie crust. Laid it out and brushed some cooled, melted butter all over it. The sprinkled my cinnamon sugar all over it. Baked. Then drizzled my glaze. Super easy. There’s also no magic amount for the glaze. You’ll want it to be very viscous and not too liquid-y. If you need to add more powdered sugar, that’s ok!
