Sweet Chili BBQ Sausage

My family has been making this sweet chili BBQ sausage for as long as I can remember. This is the perfect quick appetizer for any cookout, and it only requires 3 ingredients. I’ve included two ways to make it. You can make it in a skillet, or you can also put it on the grill. I love a quick appetizer for summertime and this one is the best!
This sweet BBQ is the best. Yall know I’m all about some easy recipes. There are no rules when it comes to this one. It’s quick and easy to make in a skillet or to throw on the grill. There are also no rules when it comes to the sausage. You can use smoked sausage, but this one in the photos is actually a deer sausage we had in the freezer. Any way and any version, it always comes out perfect. You can’t mess this recipe up.
Equipment You’ll Need
As for equipment for this BBQ sausage recipe, you will need either a large skillet, spatula, and knife. If you choose to grill it, all you’ll need a large sheet of foil.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Sausage:
You’ll need about two pounds of sausage. There are really no rules for what kind. I’ve used smoked sausage, deer or venison sausage. Whatever you have will work!
Sweet Thai Chili Sauce:
This is like a sweet and sour sauce, but I feel like the sweet Thai chili is better and thicker than just normal sweet and sour.
BBQ Sauce:
You’ll only need a tablespoon. Nothing more, nothing less. This just adds a hint of smokey flavor.
How to Make This Sweet Chili BBQ Sausage Recipe
In the Skillet:
Step one:
Cut up sauce into small pieces and place in a skillet. Sauté until browned.
Step two:
Add in the chili sauce and BBQ sauce to the skillet. Stir and sauté’ for several minutes. Serve with toothpicks and enjoy!
On the Grill:
Step one:
Cut up sauce into small pieces. Add all of the ingredients in the center of a large piece of foil. Fold and roll up all the edges until a pouch is made.
Step two:
Place on a grill for about 20 minutes until sauce is bubbly and sausage is cooked. Serve with toothpicks and enjoy!

- 1 tbsp BBQ Sauce
