Ok. This savory chopped salad with homemade creamy avocado dressing is the perfect salad. It packed with real bacon bits, tomatoes, heart of palm, fresh avocado slices, French fried onions, and blue cheese. This savory salad is so good, and the creamy avocado dressing tops it off. This is the perfect salad to eat alone or as a starter.
A salad is not a hard thing to make. It really just boils down to picking all the right ingredients that pair well together. This tossed salad recipe is a rendition kinda of a cobb salad. It’s a little different. You don’t see a lot of heart of palm salad recipes around. However, I’ll assure you, this is a recipe worth trying.
Equipment You’ll Need
You’ll need a large salad bowl for this recipe. I have a few linked from Walmart that I have. I’ve had this wooden one for years, and it’s great. You’ll also maybe need some tongs and a knife to slice with.
Ingredients You’ll Need
You’ll start with a bed of arugula. I personally love arugula and I like the peppery flavor. If you don’t want to use the arugula, then I would use a spring mix.
Real Bacon Bits:
Real bacon bits. I used the storebought kind.
I sliced some multicolor cherry tomatoes.
French Fried Onion:
I love the French fried onions. Somewhat like a crouton for the salad. These are so good and add so much flavor and crunch.
Heart of Palm:
I love the heart of palm. It’s got an artichoke heart-ish flavor. These are so good and pair perfect with the salad.
You’ll need some fresh avocado slices.
The tart blue cheese is sooo good on this salad. You’ll need about a quarter of a cup.
Creamy Avocado Dressing:
For the dressing, you’ll need a whole avocado, lemon juice, olive oil, mayo, and some seasonings.
