Equipment You’ll Need

When frying, my main trusty item is my thermometer. I use it to make sure my grease is the perfect temperature, and I also use it make sure that my meats are fully cooked to temperature. I really like the digital ones. They are super easy to ready and fast!

Some other items I used were my deeper cast iron. I think I used my 15-inch one. Mine is more like a Dutch oven. Then I tenderized my pork chops with a meat tenderizer, and metal tongs are a must when trying. I used them to put my chops in, flip ’em, and all!

Ingredients You’ll Need

Boneless Pork Chops:

I used for this particular recipe boneless, thin-cut chops. I tenderized them with my meat tenderizer, then breaded them.

Oil:

I used canola oil, but any type of frying oil will work. There is no particular set amount to use. Just make sure that it’s about a half to once-inch deep in your particular pan.

Wet Ingredients:

I used 3 eggs and a splash of half and half to make my wet binder. You could always use regular milk if that’s what you have.

Breading & Spices:

It’s taken me while to perfect my seasonings when making breaded fried pork chops, but this is what I’ve narrowed them do to. I feel like it’s the perfect amount to two cups of flour. You also want to add in the baking soda. This will help draw out the moisture and make your crust extra crispy!

Step by Step How to Make These Southern Fried Pork Chops

STEP one

Fill a large, deep skillet with oil until it’s about an inch deep. Turn the heat to medium to high. In a large bowl, add in your flour, baking powder and seasonings and then mix completely. In another bowl, add in your milk and eggs and beat with a fork or whisk.

Step two

Beat each of your chops with a meat tenderizer then sprinkle them with a tiny dash of salt. Refer to your skillet and make sure your grease is maintaining around 350 degrees. You may have to adjust your heat to reach temperature. With your tongs, dip a chop into the egg mixture then back into the flour mixture, totally coating with flour. Do this step twice to each pork chop giving them a double coating, then add each one individually to the grease.

Step three

You’ll fry a few at a time, not letting them touch while frying. It took me around 3-5 minutes per side to cook. You’ll be able to see the edges and top starting to fry when it’s time to flip. They will be nice and golden brown. Cook until each chop reaches at least 170 degrees internally. Remove each chop with your tongs and lay then on a paper towel lined plate. Serve hot with fixings of your choice. Enjoy!
