I love this Waldorf chicken bowtie pasta salad. It’s the perfect light and summery recipe with the creamy dressing, variety of fruit and pecans. You’re going to make it the same exact way you would make a Waldorf chicken salad except you’re going to add bowtie pasta. This recipe is so simple it was perfect for lunch, a party or really any occasion.
I actually made pasta for a party we were having. It’s perfect pasta salad. It’s got every component. Fruit, meat, pasta. It’s light, but also filling. It can also be made ahead of time.
Equipment You’ll Need
The only equipment that you’re going to need for this recipe is a large bowl to mix it all in and a pot to boil your pasta. Maybe some measuring cups and that’s really about it.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Bowtie Pasta:
You’ll need about two cups of cooked bowtie pasta.
Canned White Chicken Meat:
You’ll need about 25 ounces of canned white chicken breast meat. You want the big cans.
Purple Grapes:
You’ll need a cup and a half of halved purple grapes.
Apples
You need two to three diced apples. I used fuji, but you can use whatever your preference.
Celery:
You’ll need one celery stalked finely chopped.
Pecans:
I used a half a cup of pecans.
Dressing:
For the dressing, you need sour cream, mayo and dijon mustard.
Poppy Seeds:
I love using poppy seeds for dressings. You’ll need about a tablespoon.
Seasonings:
Sugar, salt and pepper. Keep it simple.
